“Flowers and Bees Week” 🐝🌻🌼
This week we had a wonderful “Flowers and Bees Week” 🐝🌻🌼
The children took part in many fun and engaging activities all about bees, flowers, and nature.
We created a Bee Tuff Tray and a Wild Flowers Tuff Tray, which the children absolutely loved exploring. They used scoops and cups to fill, pour, and transfer the sensory materials, counted bees and matched numbers, explored the honeycomb shapes, and learned about beehives and how bees make honey. The children also enjoyed imaginative play, building and arranging the honeycomb pieces while developing their fine motor skills, counting skills, and teamwork through play-based learning.
One of the children’s favourite activities was making a huge sunflower 🌻 for our classroom door. The children were able to stand next to it and measure how tall they are in centimetres. They really enjoyed comparing their height and seeing how much they have grown.
We also had a special tasting activity where the children got to try toast with honey 🍯. We talked about where honey comes from and how important bees are for nature and flowers.
Throughout the week the children also enjoyed many other activities including arts and crafts, educational games, discussions about insects and nature, and lots of creative play connected to our Flowers and Bees theme.
It was a lovely week full of learning, creativity, and fun! 🐝🌼
