🌈 This Week at Our Lady’s Pre-School – All About Me
What a wonderful first week of the new school year! 💛
Our weekly topic was “All About Me”, giving the children lots of opportunities to settle into preschool, explore their new environment and begin making new friends.
The children enjoyed creating self-portraits and drawing faces, exploring different features and talking about themselves. They also had fun making handprints, creating colourful artwork to celebrate our first week together.
Throughout the week, the children explored our preschool environment, became familiar with our daily routines and had lots of opportunities to play alongside new and returning friends.
We also focused on developing fine motor skills through playdough activities, where children enjoyed rolling, squeezing, pressing and shaping the dough. These simple activities help strengthen little hands and prepare children for future skills such as drawing, mark making and using tools.
Our outdoor learning continued with lots of fun in the sand pit, where the children explored, scooped, poured, filled and built while developing their coordination, creativity and confidence.
It has been a lovely first week filled with new experiences, new friendships, creativity and lots of happy play. 🌈
We are so proud of how well the children have settled and we are looking forward to another exciting week together! 💕
