Forest Adventures! 🌳🦊🦉

This week, our little explorers discovered the wonderful world of forests and woodland animals!

Each day, we learned about different animals, including foxes, hedgehogs and owls, exploring where they live, what they eat, how they move and the sounds they make. We also discovered which animals are nocturnal and enjoyed woodland stories, songs and group discussions.

Inspired by Julia Donaldson’s Stick Man, the children collected sticks and twigs outdoors and created their own colourful Stick Man characters using wool and natural materials.

Our forest-themed tuff tray encouraged sensory exploration and imaginative play, while building dens from cardboard boxes helped the children develop teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills.

We also enjoyed woodland animal crafts, construction activities and outdoor climbing, strengthening both fine and gross motor skills.

EYFS Learning: Throughout the week, the children developed their communication and language, understanding of the world, physical skills, creativity and social skills through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

🌿 A fantastic week of exploring nature, working together and learning through play!
